    Q) Making an essay discussing open world mechanics in games like CubeWorld. Need some help please!

    Posted: 12 Nov 2019 02:41 PM PST

    Hi there!

    I'm currently writing up an essay that seeks to compare different ways games have utilised open world mechanics as one of their core gameplay loops. Cube World is one of my examples. I've not personally played the game, and most of my conjecture is based off of what friends have said and the trailer on steam. I have some questions however that I hope some of you may answer!

    1) is there a definitive number of places of interest (POIs) in each region?

    2) is there a definitive number of regions?

    3) are there any current maps that showcase a 'completely cleared' region? (IE it shows where all the towns, dungeons, other POIs are)

    4) how do you the player feel when traversing this land?

    5) is there enough POIs or enrichment interactables in a region? (enrichment interactables IE walking past a table and able to pick up the mug/book on it, knocking stuff over, going through bushes and causing birds to fly out ect)

    I thiiiink that's all I have question wise for now. If I've made a mistake please tell me! I don't do a lot of posting on reddit in general aha ^^;

    Don't we love it when a quest objective is on a tree.
